–TV Programmes showing in the waiting room…
This idea as well as the idea of a radio in the waiting room is something that we have considered before. However, we have many different patients with differing tastes in entertainment and music come through our surgery doors each day. Keeping everybody happy with the choice of TV programme or music would prove very challenging. We have therefore decided that it is not something we intend to implement at the moment.
–News and special events posted on a notice board…
Thank you for your comment. As you will have seen, we have two notice boards in the waiting room. One is used during health campaigns (for example; flu season, travel information) and one is used for notices and posters. We are asked to display a lot of posters from different organisations so there is rarely space on this board to put additional information.
We do feel however that your suggestion is a very good one. So we have created some GP profiles on our practice website. These profiles include a photograph of each of our GPs and a little description of their hobbies and interests.
We will look at how we could incorporate this information into a notice board in our waiting room.
