Chlamydia Screening

Aged 16 – 24? Get tested for Chlamydia today…

Chlamydia is common sexually transmitted infection. People under the age of 25 years are most at risk, and therefore need regular check ups.

Chlamydia is known as a very quiet disease because most people who contract it do not experience any noticeable symptoms. Untreated, Chlamydia can cause long-term damage such as infertility.

All it takes to get tested is an appointment during surgery hours with the nurse and we urge our patients to come up and get tested.

Coronary Heart Disease

This is by appointment only.

Counselling

Please ask your doctor for an appointment and a referral if appropriate.

Diabetic Clinic

This is by appointment only.

Family Planning

Contraceptive care is provided by all the doctors and practice nurses during surgery hours 8.30am – 10.00am walk-in  and afternoon surgery by booked appointment only.

 

Minor Surgery

The doctors carry out minor surgical procedures by appointment. Please contact the practice for an appointment once the procedure has been agreed by your doctor.

 

Phlebotomy Clinics

Request for blood test are by appointment only. If the request has come from a clinician  other that your GP,  please make sure you bring the paper work with you.

You can also go the the walk-in clinic at Queen Alexandra Hospital (C Level close to North entrance) Monday to Friday 7.45am – 4.45pm

For children up to and including 15 years of age QA Hospital – Level A – Paediatric Department which is a walk-in clinic. Monday – Thursday 9.00am – 1.00pm and 2.00pm – 4.00pm

Friday 9.00am – 1.00pm only

 

 

Travel Immunisations/Vaccinations

If you plan to travel abroad and need immunisations you will need to complete the Travel Risk Assessment form ( which can be found on the web site or collect from reception).

We ask for the  Travel Risk Assessment Form be completed and returned to the surgery 4 – 6 weeks or longer if you are planning an extensive trip. Once we receive the completed form in the surgery a nurse will contact you to arrange an appointment, if one is required.

A charge will be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. A list of these charges can be downloaded here.

Practice Nurse and Healthcare Assistant Clinics

In addition to chronic disease management, well women checks and travel advice they are happy to deal with ear syringing, blood tests,ECGs, minor injuries and dressings.

Well Women Clinic and Cervical Smears

These are carried out by the practice nurses. A recall system may invite you to attend but we recommend that all women should have routine smears at three to five year intervals from 25 years of age until they have reached 65 years of age.

Maternity Care Clinic

We share maternity care with the midwives. Midwives can be contacted on 02392 283608.

 Flu Immunisation Clinic

Flu immunisations are offered to patients over 65 and children under 5 years of age or patients with eligible conditions.

Flu clinics operate during the winter months from September to December.

Waterlooville Health Visiting Team

The health visiting team would like to make you aware of the HEALTH VISITOR ADVICE LINE  were you can receive routine support and advice for children under the age of five.
